From: Robert Walsh <rjwalsh@durables.serpentine.com> 0. How (that is, by whom) did you join Red Bean, and approximately when? Who in Red Bean knows you in real life, so we could ask them if you suddenly appear to disappear? Hmm. That would have been Bryan O'Sullivan's fault. About 2 years ago, he said "come on Robert. Everyone's doing it." At first, it was only on weekends and Thursday nights, but pretty soon I was doing it every day. However, my friends took me away one night to the Betty Ford clinic, and now I'm happy to say that I'm pretty clean once again. Now I just use the a/c for occasional nameserver twiddling for the durables.serpentine.com domain. 1. Do you use Red Bean as your primary email address and/or primary Web server (i.e., is your home page here)? Nope. But gargle does act as a secondary ns for me. It used to be primary. 2. Do you know anything about Unix system administration? Programming? Tell everything about you and computers... :-) Oh yes. Lots. Although only about Unixy stuff. I tend to break down in tears in the presence of Windows. Right now I work with Sun writing IC CAD software. Previous to that, I was with Siemens doing military messaging and security/cryptography stuff for European types. I've also done my fair share of device driver programming and hardware hacking (built a RAID once.) The early years are just a fuzzy set of memories of Apple II's, Sinclair Spectrums and Atari ST's. Sigh. Nothing else. 3. Anything else about yourself you'd like made known? Put it here, anything goes. I make pretty good homemade minestrone. I'm afraid to throw out old computer hardware, just in case I ever need it again. 4. Optional information: what's your snail address and phone, in case something goes down and we need to reach you that way? (This information will not be published on the Web unless you specifically grant permission.) [not public] 5. Do you play bagpipes? No.
